Luzern is often considered the most beautiful place and has a lot to offer in Switzerland. Luzern in summer and winter both is equally stunning. Both seasons have their own charm. In order to get there, one can fly into Basel or Zurich Airport and then take a car. The city is small enough to walk around but there is public transportation available as well.
You can spend quality time when travelling to Luzern with your partner, in a group or alone. There are many things to do and see. If you take a train from Zurich, then you can see the beginning of the Alps in the background. Trains are a great and comfortable way to get around and this can be used to get to Luzern as well. The views are worth the journey.
If you are going there in spring, then check out the main interest points such as the Chapel bridge that was built in the 14th century. It is a stone’s throw away from the station. There are options for food near the bridge if you are interested. You can see the Alps and the lake Lucerne from the bridge. At night the bridge is even more attractive and will make a perfect place for lovebirds to visit. Do check out the Jesuit Church in Baroque style as it’s only a few minutes away from the Chapel bridge. The Spreuer Bridge with 17th century paintings are beautiful.
Stroll through the old town and check out the Lion monument. Planning sometime in the old town is a good way to spend quality time when travelling to Luzern. Typically Swiss, the old town is conveniently close to the Chapel Bridge and the lake. Cobblestone streets, pretty buildings and charming little shops welcome you as you walk around.
You can also choose to walk along the lake promenade to spend quality time with your partner. It is quite lively and pretty, offering great views. Luzern is surrounded by nature and Lake Lucerne is a great place to start. Take a boat tour on the lake and then head to Weggis to relax. There is a beautiful meadow on the banks near Hertensteinstrasse where you can sunbathe and swim in the lake. You can choose to take a drive from Weggis to Vitznau and back to Luzern to spend quality time when travelling to Luzern.
Luzern has a Christmas market in winter which is worth checking out. It is beautiful with lights and snow in the background. Luzern has a Light Festival in January. There are many installations that are lit from 6 pm to 10 pm and its quite romantic. If you are alone and too cold, you could try for an erotic massage in Luzern as well.
We all know about Swiss chocolates and winter is a good time as any to go for tastings. The chocolate is unique, and you get in a workshop as well. Mount Pilatus in winter is exceptionally pretty. Mount Titlis is also great for winter sports and activities. The train ride from Luzern is quite scenic. Go tubing by renting a tube and get your adrenaline rushing. There is also the Glacier Cave – a 150 meter tunnel beneath the glacial surface. The suspension bridge could be for the adventurous – the Titlis Cliff Walk.
Luzern is almost always a great idea. No matter which season, the place is perfect for romantic date or any trip.
